Component 5: Share Experience with Peers
Component 5: Share Experience with Peers
Utilizing technology to share with my fellow educational institution leaders is vital in this standard. As leaders, we are expected to share evidence based on our experiences at our institutions.
Considering that fact, I was allowed to speak to my colleagues during a Barbados Association of Principals and Public Secondary Schools (BAPPSS) meeting at the Ministry of Education, Technological and Vocational Training on 'The Impact of Technology in the 2024 Classroom'. As part of my presentation, I showed a video of a Year 4 Information Technology class where the teacher discussed Computer Hardware: The Function of the Impact Printer. Students were actively engaged in using the Google Workspace For Education software to view notes, and videos and complete a Google Form worksheet demonstrating competence in the topic.
This discussion at BAPPSS included and was not limited to the technological methods/procedures implemented that produced favourable results and/or accomplishments at the institution.
See the video and link to the video below which shows students actively engaged in class using the Google Workspace software.

ReplyDeleteWow. The students seem very attentive in that lesson. Great job!
ReplyDeleteSharing your experience with your peers can indeed be helpful.
ReplyDeleteAs an educational leader you want to ensure that you are apart of a professional learning community where you can share information and receive feedback on various topics. The fact that you were able to sit in a colleague's class, observe and have a post discussion on that class was not only helpful to you and your colleague, but also to the members present in your presentation and to those seeing this blog. Continue the good work!
